The employees, in particular, worked under inadequate health and safety conditions, the country’s competition authority said.
Italy’s competition authority announced on Wednesday, July 17, that it has launched an investigation into the exploitation of workers at luxury fashion brands Armani Group and Dior Group. This was reported by the Italian news agency ANSA.

The regulator also suspects Armani Group and Dior Group of “possible illegal activities in the promotion and sale of clothing and accessories that violate consumer protection provisions.”
To make some clothes and accessories, the companies allegedly used materials from workshops and factories staffed by workers who received inadequate wages.
“In addition, such workers worked beyond the legal hours and in inadequate health and safety conditions, in contrast to the high level of production that the companies are proud of,” the regulator added.
