Ukraine is preparing claims in international courts for the compensation of the Russians for damage due to the shelling of the Dnieper hydroelectric station.
The restoration of the Dnieper hydroelectric power station after Russia’s shelling on the night of June 1 will take at least three years. This was announced by the General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Sirota in an interview with Forbes on Tuesday, July 16.
According to him, it took a month and a half to clear the rubble after the shelling and was only completed on July 14.
“For the enemy, DneproGES is more accessible; the front line is 50 km away,” Sirota noted.
The restoration of the Dnieper hydroelectric power station will take at least another three years, while at the same time additional resources are needed to reduce the vulnerability of the hydroelectric power station to new possible attacks by the Russians.
Ukrhydroenergo is preparing claims in international and national courts for the compensation of the Russians for losses due to the shelling of the DneproHPP.
We remind you that on the night of June 1, the Russian military opened fire on energy facilities in five regions of Ukraine, including two hydroelectric power stations that were attacked.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukrhydroenergo has lost about 45% of the generation of its hydroelectric power plants. Among the 10 largest hydroelectric power stations in Ukraine, not a single one remained that was not subjected to a missile attack by the Russians.
