In June, Ukraine imported 858.3 thousand MWh of electricity, which is 91% more than the volumes of the previous month. This is a new historical record. This is confirmed by tracking data from ExPro Consulting, published on Wednesday, July 3.
Indicates that there were no exports last month. The largest share in the structure of imports continues to be occupied by Hungary – 41.6%, the smallest – by Moldova with 7.7%.
In June, the largest increase in electricity imports was observed from Poland – 2.4 times compared to May at more than 138 thousand MWh.
On average, 28.6 thousand MWh is imported per day. The peak of supply was on June 15 – 35.6 thousand MWh.
Let’s remember that in May Ukraine imported 448 thousand MWh. This is also a record. The average import price in May reached $127/MWh.
Ukraine will receive a record amount of electricity from the EU today amid grid shortages and summer heat.
And the day before, President Vladimir Zelensky said that the government is working to increase the import of electricity from the EU.
