In June, the population of Ukraine sold cash and non-cash money to commercial banks in the amount of $1.483 billion (equivalent) and bought in the amount of $2.456 billion. This is confirmed by data from the National Bank.
Net purchases of foreign currency amounted to $972.3 million.
The volume of purchases decreased by 6.1% compared to May, when Ukrainians bought $1.036 billion. Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians bought $5.238 billion from banks.

Let’s recall that in June the NBU slightly reduced interventions to support the Hryvnia and sold $2.986 billion in the interbank market. This is 2.8% less than in May ($3.072 billion). Since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold $14.170 billion.
Earlier, the National Bank named the reasons for the growth of the dollar. At the same time, the regulator ensures that the situation in the foreign exchange market of Ukraine remains under control.
