The positive financial result should not be overestimated, because many businesses are still not profitable, said Daniil Getmantsev.
The total financial result of Ukrainian enterprises for 2023 reached more than 863.8 billion Hryvnia. This was said by the head of the parliamentary committee on monetary, tax and customs policy, Daniil Getmantsev, with reference to the State Statistics Service.
“If we take it as a whole, this is the best indicator in the last 10 years,” said the parliamentarian.
According to him, 71% of business entities are profitable (their total result is +1,339.9 billion UAH), respectively, 29% (-476.2 billion UAH) are unprofitable.
A positive financial result was recorded in 14 out of 15 sectors of the economy (except education, where it was negative – UAH 123.4 million).
Getmantsev is convinced that this success should not be exaggerated.
First, a representative of the Verkhovna Rada Committee pointed out that more than 40% of the total success was provided by financial and insurance activities, mainly the banking sector (UAH 346.5 billion). The financial result of the entire real sector was UAH 410.5 billion.
-
trade – +177.2 billion UAH,
-
industry – +118.2 billion UAH,
-
agriculture – +63.8 billion UAH,
-
transport, postal and warehouse activities – +48.9 billion UAH,
-
construction – only +2.4 billion UAH.
Secondly, in the aforementioned sectors of the real sector, the total negative financial result of those who suffered losses was UAH 386.2 billion, and this is 81.1% of the total indicator of unprofitable enterprises (the financial sector also has unprofitable with a result of -13.5 billion UAH , and the percentage of loss is 33.4%, but the contribution to the total result is only 2.8%).
Third, levels of unprofitability remain high in many sectors:
-
in the field of culture, sports and entertainment – 41.4% of all businesses,
-
real estate transactions – 39.6%,
-
education – 36.8%,
-
hotel and restaurant industry – 36.2%,
-
professional and scientific and technical activities – 32.5%,
-
IT – 31.3%,
-
construction – 31.0%.
We remind you that Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that in 2024 the government expects 5% growth in Ukraine’s GDP.
Ukraine’s economy grew by 4.3%
