The scheme was organized in May of this year by a resident of the Odessa region. Delok looked for men who wanted to leave Ukraine illegally and negotiated payment with them. Those who wished were taken to the state border, which they then crossed on foot. Carriers received information on how to avoid roadblocks. The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported this on June 25.
It is noted that on June 21, DBR employees documented an attempt to smuggle about 100 people across the border. In four beads that were stopped by law enforcement officers, they found 47 men. The remaining 53 Ukrainians did not have time to reach the “assembly point.”
Businessmen charged from 5 thousand dollars for their services. up to 18.5 thousand from one. And for transporting hundreds of people, the attackers could earn up to a million dollars.
The group members were detained and reported on suspicion of organizing the illegal transportation of people across the state border – Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The organizer of the scheme was sent to a pre-trial detention center for three months and bail was set in the amount of UAH 13.6 million. He faces a prison term of up to 9 years.
All detainees over 25 years of age were issued protocols and taken to the Territorial Recruitment Center.
Let us remind you that in Odessa, the court took into custody an official of the Territorial Recruitment Center, who, through the Oberig system, made 138 men “unsuitable”.
