Ferrari has not commented on the likely price of its first electric car or its new plant, which is set to open this week in the northern Italian city of Maranello.
Italian luxury car maker Ferrari plans to release its first electric car by the end of 2025, Reuters wrote.
Journalists have learned that Ferrari’s first electric car will cost at least 500 thousand euros – the automaker is preparing to open a plant that will produce this model and may increase the production of the entire group by a third.
It is reported that the expected capacity of the plant is up to 20 thousand cars per year.
The planned price reflects the brand’s confidence that affluent drivers are willing to pay for such cars, despite the reduction in production of mass market electric vehicles amid falling demand, the publication writes.
It is also reported that the price of 500 thousand euros does not include additional functions and individual features, although the price will be higher than the average selling price of a Ferrari in the first quarter of this year (about 350 thousand euros).
Ferrari has not commented on the likely price of its first electric car or its new plant, which is set to open this week in the northern Italian city of Maranello.
The publication reports that the new plant will provide Ferrari with an additional car assembly line and will produce gasoline and hybrid cars, as well as new electric vehicles and parts for them, and the plant itself will will be fully operational in three to four months.
“Demand for Ferrari is growing and they have an opportunity to meet some of that demand without compromising exclusivity,” said Fabio Caldato, portfolio manager at AcomeA SGR, which owns Ferrari shares.
A second electric car model is also under development, but at an early stage, the agency source said.
It was previously reported that Ferrari completed 2023 with record numbers.
