At the international conference on the restoration of Ukraine URC 2024 in Berlin, 12 cooperation agreements were concluded with financial institutions and energy companies. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy on Wednesday, June 12.

In particular, the memorandum of understanding with Siemens Energy AG is important for the introduction of energy-efficient technologies, decentralized electricity production, and increasing the use of renewable energy sources. SA Naftogaz this company agreed to cooperate in the field of decarbonization and operation of gas storage facilities.
The memorandum with GOLDBECK SOLAR Investment GmbH provides for the construction of 500 MW of solar panels, and with NOTUS Energy Invest Ukraine – the construction of 120 MW of wind generation.
Memorandums of understanding were signed with Voith Hydro on the establishment of PrJSC Ukrhydroproject new hydroelectric power stations and reconstruction of destroyed ones; with the Swedish Development Financial Institution on the use of biomass-based gas and steam turbines.
In addition, a joint declaration was signed with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is important for the transition to green energy and ensuring the stability of the Ukrainian energy sector. Agreements were sealed with Germany on the provision of a loan through KfW to support Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the amount of 30.4 million euros.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Norwegian-Ukrainian energy partnership was also launched.
Let’s remember that Russia destroyed 80% of thermal generation and a third of hydroelectric generation in Ukraine. President Vladimir Zelensky emphasized that in the shorter term, it is necessary to carry out a quick and inexpensive restoration of all damaged energy facilities that can be restored.
