Since the beginning of the year, almost 95 thousand used cars have been registered in Ukraine for the first time, which is 36% more than in the same period in 2023.
In May, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with more than 19 thousand used cars imported from abroad. Compared to May last year, registrations of such vehicles increased by 26%. Ukravtoprom reported this on Thursday, June 6.
At the same time, compared to the previous month, this number decreased by 2%.
The largest share in this segment of the car market belongs to gasoline cars – 49%. Diesel – 23%; electric vehicles + 17%; cars with HBO – 6%; hybrid – 5%.
The leader in registration remains the Volkswagen Golf.

The average age of used cars that switched to Ukrainian license plates in May was nine years.
In total, since the beginning of the year, almost 95 thousand used cars underwent their first registration in Ukraine, which is 36% more than in the same period in 2023.
Let’s recall that in May more than 5.5 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine, which is 8% more than in the same period in 2023.
In addition, in May, Ukrainians bought 18% more new commercial vehicles than a year ago, and 7% more than in April.
