“On May 30, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced restrictions on the export of Ukrainian sugar to the EU, but this encourages our producers to continue their routes not only in Europe, but also in global market (Mediterranean countries, West Africa) ,” said Acting Chairman of the Board of the Association Yana Kavushevskaya .
He added that the last season for sugar beets was not bad, and believes that it will remain in the top 3 crops in terms of profitability and can be a good alternative to grains.
We remind you that Ukraine has significantly increased the export of sugar to Africa. In March, 20% of the sugar volume was exported to African countries.
It has also been reported that the Russian government has introduced a ban on the export of sugar and chemically pure sucrose. Deliveries are possible only to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in limited quantities.
