The hryvnia exchange rate continues its record decline against the dollar and euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Wednesday, May 29.

Thus, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 35 kopecks to UAH 41.10, and the euro exchange rate jumped by 40 kopecks to UAH 44.70.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 40.50 UAH, and a euro for 44.00 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 40.42-40.45 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 2 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
The day before, the National Bank raised the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate for the sixth time to a historical maximum of UAH 40.3958 (+0.0946 UAH). In turn, the euro exchange rate is 43.9708 UAH (+0.2118 UAH). This is also a new high.
Earlier, the NBU explained the increase in the dollar exchange rate by restoring international aid to Ukraine. This influenced the increase in budget expenditures.
And the Verkhovna Rada believes that the decrease in the hryvnia corresponds to the planned indicators included in the state budget of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, participants in the financial market believe that the main reason for the devaluation of the Hryvnia is the political decision of the NBU, whose time has come.
