Four employees of the state institution “Bozhkovskaya correctional colony (No. 16)” have already been charged with suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 127 (torture) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officials have exposed numerous cases of abuse and beating of prisoners in colonies. Almost everyone who ended up in prison was a victim. The State Bureau of Investigation announced this on Facebook on May 19.
It turned out that the attackers threatened the newly arrived settlement among the “rejected” prisoners. The convicts were beaten until the person’s will was broken and they were forced to unconditionally follow any instructions.
Prisoners were forced to clean the floor while filming the process with a video camera. If they refused, the victims were beaten with their hands, feet, rubber truncheons, sticks, and their arms were twisted. Investigators found that the attackers struck one convicted person more than 200 times. Law enforcement officers received a video of colony workers beating one of the newly arrived prisoners.
Correctional officials face up to 10 years behind bars. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being decided.
Let us remind you that in early May, the DBR announced that it had exposed the military commissar in the Zaporozhye region for the illegal seizure of cars. It turned out that he illegally seized four trucks and a minibus from a parking lot with a total value of almost 11 million UAH.
