In April, eggs fell the most – by 19.2%. Prices for sugar, oil, grain products, vegetables and milk also fell.
At the end of April, consumer price growth in Ukraine fell to 0.2% from 0.5% in March, 0.3% in February and 0.4% in January. The State Statistics Service announced this on Friday, May 10.

According to the department, in April 2023 the price increase was also 0.2%, so in annual terms, inflation in April of this year remained at the level of 3.2%, as in March. At the end of February it was 4.3%, at the end of January – 4.7%, and at the end of December 2023 – 5.1%.
In the consumer market in April, compared to March of this year, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 0.3%. The price of eggs fell the most – by 19.2%. Prices for sugar, oil, grain products, vegetables, and milk fell by 2.4–0.3%.
At the same time, prices for beef, butter, fish and fish products, soft drinks, bread, sunflower oil, fermented milk products, and fruits increased by 1.2-0.6%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 0.6%, linked to a 1.3% increase in the price of tobacco products.
Clothes and shoes increased in price by 0.9%, including shoes – by 1.3%, clothing – by 0.5%.
The increase in prices in the health care sector by 1.4% was mainly due to the increase in prices for pharmaceutical products by 1.9%.
Transportation prices rose 2.1% last month, mainly due to a 3.7% increase in prices for gasoline and lubricating oil.
As you know, by the end of 2023, inflation in Ukraine has slowed down to 5.1%. This is the lowest level since 2020, when consumer price growth was 5%.
We remind you that at the end of April, the National Bank improved the inflation forecast for 2024, but worsened it for the following year.
