Warsaw has not yet resolved the issue with the Ukrainian men, but that does not include sending them home by force, Yaroslav Guzy said.

Ukrainian men of military age will not be returned by force from Poland, but Warsaw has not yet decided what to do with them. Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Yaroslav Guzy spoke about it, reports Ukrinform.

“It is hard to imagine that the Polish authorities will return the men of military age to Ukraine by force it will not happen,” said the diplomat.

According to him, Warsaw is in a “different situation” than some countries, because millions of Ukrainians live on its territory. He believes that discussions between EU countries will continue on the issue of the stay of Ukrainians after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to stop providing consular services to men of military age abroad.

The ambassador noted that the government of his country has different opinions on this matter. Warsaw does not yet have a concrete answer on what to do with Ukrainian men in the state.

“We understand very well the situation in which the government of Ukraine finds itself. In general, we have a similar experience in history: if there is a war, we must defend ourselves, but in practice, not everyone is ready do it how at the beginning of a large-scale war, many Ukrainian men returned to Ukraine But I understand that all the volunteers have already done it.

Earlier, the Polish Ministry of Defense said Warsaw would help Ukraine return those liable for military service.

The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs has pledged to extend temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees without passports.
