The operators were able to make the repairs, but the weather conditions in the Russian Federation slowed down the speed of the repairs.
Russian oil refining rates fell to their lowest level in 11 months. Bloomberg reported this with reference to its sources.
Russia processed 5.22 million barrels of crude oil per day between April 11-17. That’s about 10,000 barrels per day, or 0.2%, below the previous seven-day average.
Russian refineries processed an average of about 5.23 million barrels per day in April, near the lowest level since May last year.
The media recalled that at the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian drones hit the main Russian oil refineries, causing them to be partially or completely closed.
There has been no further damage to the refinery over the past month, giving operators time to make repairs. However, the speed of recovery was slowed by weather conditions – floods in the region forced the Orsky Oil Refinery to stop operations on April 7. The plant did not process crude oil during the last reporting period.
As we already wrote, exports of Russian oil and petroleum products in March 2024 increased by 210 thousand barrels per day compared to the previous month – to 7.84 million b/d (by 2.8%), and revenues from oil exports fell 20% – to $9.3 billion.
