Knauf decided to transfer the entire business to local management in order to keep the jobs of more than 4,000 employees.
The large German manufacturer of building materials Knauf has completely liquidated its activities in Russia after more than 30 years of work in the Russian market. This was reported by Deutsche Welle in connection with the company’s statement on Monday, April 22.
It is noted that the company did not name specific reasons for leaving Russia, saying that it is happening against the backdrop of “current events.”
Knauf decided to transfer the entire business, including procurement of raw materials, production and sales, to local management in order to keep the jobs of more than 4,000 employees. However, the Russian government must still approve the business transfer process.
Earlier, the media reported that German companies were helping the Russian occupiers to carry out construction in Mariupol. Then the companies were called Knauf and WKB Systems.
