The first drone protection system in the form of nets was installed at its refineries by Russian Bashneft.
Russian company Bashneft partially closed oil refineries with mechanical nets from drone attacks. This is a half-hearted solution to the lack of an air defense system, RosSMI reported on Friday, April 19.
“Company Bashneft took the initiative and equipped the main objects that could be the target of attacks with some mechanical fences. But we all understand that this is a half-hearted solution. Let’s assume that they can withstand the first blow, but there may be a second soon,” said Radiy Khabirov, head of the Russian region of Bashkiria.
According to him, the authorities of Bashkortostan are trying to reach an agreement with the Russian military department to help them.
“The most important thing that has been done is that we have secured the main ranges with mechanical protection networks, and accordingly, the monitoring system is working,” added Khabirov.
It was previously reported that Russia quickly repaired some of the major oil refineries hit by Ukrainian drones.
We remind you that since the beginning of the year, more than 13 Russian refineries have been attacked. The drone attack led to the biggest weekly increase in oil prices of the year.
The United States called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, as drone attacks on refineries could lead to an increase in world oil prices.
