The deputy director of one of Lviv’s utility companies, who organized a scheme to smuggle military-age men across the border, was exposed. The State Bureau of Investigation reported this on April 19.
It was noted that the man promised two residents of the Lviv region to take them abroad in his own minibus for 30 thousand US dollars. He assured them that he had the appropriate connections and that he and his passengers would be allowed to pass through the border without being checked. After transferring the first part of the funds – 10 thousand US dollars, he was detained by law enforcement officers. The officer is also preparing to cross the border for another citizen. For this, he received an advance from him in the amount of 8 thousand US dollars.
It has been declared that the suspect is suspected of illegally transporting men of military age to the border. He faces up to 9 years in prison with confiscation of assets.
A petition was also filed to choose a preventive measure for him – detention. The investigation continues and the involvement of other people in the criminal scheme is established.
We remind you that two deputies from the Kharkiv region and the former chief of staff of the Kharkiv OVA, who organized the border crossing for 19 pseudo-volunteers, received suspicions.
It was also reported that a resident of Chernigov, in collusion with officials of the territorial center for recruitment and social support from other regions, was looking for people willing to pay money for avoiding mobilization.
