The fastest way to renew thermal power plants is to bring equipment from Eastern Europe, where there are closed Soviet-era stations.
Energy holding DTEK is actively looking for equipment to restore its damaged thermal power plants after a missile attack by Russian invaders. The general director of the company, Maxim Timchenko, said this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine, published on Monday, April 8.
“At two of our stations, all units were destroyed, but we will return some. Another station was closed for an unexpected period… With each attack, we can return less equipment . And at some point we can reach a situation where there is no return. Now the whole company is mobilized as much as possible – from the people who clean the rubble to those who travel to the EU and USA to buy equipment, “said Timchenko.
According to him, the fastest way is to bring equipment from Eastern Europe, where there are closed Soviet-era stations. Employees of the holding have already traveled to the Baltic countries, Bulgaria, and Romania to negotiate such supplies.
“The second direction is the use of unused equipment that is in Ukraine. We are now talking with Ukrenergo, Centrenergo. We are also exchanging equipment within the group,” he added.
We remind you that during the attacks on March 22 and 29, the Russians destroyed almost all of DTEK’s thermal power plants. It was also reported that the damage to DTEK’s energy facilities was enormous estimated at billions of Hryvnia.
