Money from the IMF will cover critical budget expenditures and also help maintain macro-financial stability in Ukraine.
Ukraine received the fourth tranche from the IMF in the amount of about $880 million under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. The Ministry of Finance announced this on Tuesday, March 26.
“Additional financing from the IMF for the priority needs of the state budget of Ukraine is the result of the successful third revision of the EFF program. Thanks to timely support, we are able to continue to maintain financial stability in Ukraine,” said Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko.
He assured that Ukraine will continue to actively work on the implementation of several reforms with the IMF to ensure macroeconomic stability, strengthen public administration, support recovery efforts and, finally, the European integration of our state.
It is indicated that Ukraine has already obtained about $5.4 billion from the $15.6 billion provided by the program with the IMF.
Let’s recall that on March 21, the IMF Board of Directors approved the allocation of the fourth tranche to Ukraine in the amount of approximately $880 million under the Extended Financing Program (EFF). This money will cover critical budget expenditures and also help maintain macro-financial stability.
As reported, on December 14, 2023, Ukraine received $900 million from the IMF. This is the third tranche under the current EFF program.
