An agreement was signed in Istanbul to simplify trade between Ukraine and Turkey and remove business barriers.
Ukraine and Turkey signed an agreement on the creation of a system for the electronic exchange of preliminary information between the customs authorities of the two countries. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Telegram on Friday, March 8.
The agreement facilitating trade between the states was signed in the presence of the Ukrainian leader and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“Today, by the way, an agreement was signed that simplifies our trade – between Ukraine and Turkey – and removes obstacles to business. A number of important documents were concluded at the level of the ministries of defense,” Zelensky said.
The exchange of information will be carried out between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of Turkey. Based on the agreement, a system for electronic exchange of preliminary information will be created, where a predetermined set of data will be exchanged in electronic form.
The information received by the customs authorities of the parties will help speed up the movement of goods and vehicles across the borders of both states, as well as combat customs violations.
“Ukraine and Turkey together strengthen each other and our entire region,” Zelensky stressed.
It was previously reported that Ukraine extended the transport visa-free regime with Turkey until the end of the war.
