Capital investments and modernization costs in Ukraine amounted to UAH 32 billion, and the Ukrainian, associated and joint venture group paid UAH 66.4 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels, reported by SCM.
During the 12 months of 2023, the SCM investment group allocated UAH 32 billion (or $800 million) for capital investment and modernization in Ukraine. Compared to 2022, the amount of capital investment increased by 52%, the group reported on its website on Tuesday, February 27.
“To ensure Ukraine’s energy independence by 2023, DTEK commissioned 26 new coal faces, updated more than 6 thousand km of overhead lines and 2 thousand energy facilities, including -overhaul of thermal power plants and their elements after the shelling of the enemy. Investment continued in the second phase of one of the most powerful wind farms in Eastern Europe, the Tiligul wind farm,” the message said.

Metinvest Group’s capital investments are focused on restoring and developing the safety of key metallurgical enterprises and supporting production technology.
“Repairing furnaces in Zaporizhstal and Kametstal, restoring mining equipment and processing plants of Krivoy Rog, and also, no less important, supporting the production infrastructure of the Pokrovskugol company, which commissioned new longwall of the mine. Thanks to this, the enterprise, located in the Donetsk region near the front line, was able despite the war, to supply Ukrainian metallurgical plants with coal concentrate,” SCM emphasized.
The investment group added that based on the results of 12 months of 2023, Ukrainian, associated and joint ventures of SCM paid UAH 66.4 billion (or $1.8 billion) in taxes and fees to budgets of all levels. UAH 11.4 billion (or $0.3 billion) was allocated for social programs.
Previously, the SCM announced the amount of aid to Ukraine for two years of war.
