The Irish-American company continues to be an active participant in import and export transactions in the Russian Federation.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) added the Irish-American company Weatherford International to the list of international sponsors of war for cooperation with Russia. The company continues to operate in the Russian Federation, paying taxes there and providing the technological capabilities of the aggressor country in the oil industry. NAPC reports this on its website.
Weatherford specializes in manufacturing and supplying oil production equipment and providing services to oil and gas businesses. Weatherford is represented in Russia by LLC Weatherford Holdings (Rus), LLC Weatherford and LLC Weatherfort Business Services. In 2022, they together paid taxes to the budget of the aggressor for more than $15 million.
Among Weatherford’s partners in Russia is an oil company Rosneftwhich is the main customer of its services.
The company continues to be an active participant in import and export transactions in the Russian Federation. Between February 24, 2022 and December 31, 2023, it imported nearly $1.5 million worth of goods to Russia. This includes materials and spare parts for the oil and gas industry.
Weatherford has promised to fulfill its contractual obligations taking into account international sanctions. It rebuilt equipment supply channels after the imposition of sanctions on the Russian Federation, replacing suppliers with Russian or other foreign companies.
The NAPC states that this shows not only economic and technological corporate support for the aggressor, but also ideological support.
Previously, the NAPC included the Hungarian OTP Bank in the list of international war sponsors. This list also includes the Chinese company Xiaomi Corporation.
