We are talking about Kraken’s innovative software for managing energy facilities, which is used in 17 countries around the world.

Ukrainian energy holding DTEK is negotiating with British company Octopus Energy to attract innovative technology for managing power grids. This was reported by the Telegraph newspaper.

It is indicated that within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, a meeting was held between the CEO of DTEK, Maxim Timchenko, and the founder and CEO of Octopus Energy, Greg Jackson. They discussed possible cooperation to restore electricity grids in Ukraine damaged by Russian attacks.

“Ukraine and DTEK have shown the ingenuity and speed with which new energy infrastructure can be modernized and built. We can learn a lot from them, like how they were able to carry out the work so quickly and so beautifully – often under of fire – which in the UK lasts between 5 and 15 years,” says Greg Jackson.

The material states that Octopus may grant DTEK a license for its innovative Kraken software for managing energy facilities. Currently, this technology is used by energy companies in 17 countries to serve 54 million users.

“We want to learn from Octopus and strive to bring this change to Ukraine,” Timchenko emphasized.

According to him, DTEK is interested in exploring the possibilities of deploying this software, as well as the potential of a joint venture between the two companies.

Let’s recall that DTEK presented the concept of building “smart grids” using the example of the Kyiv region. This region can be the basis for the modernization of the network in all regions of Ukraine.

It was also reported that DTEK electrical engineers have mastered the technology of repairing the network without power outages for customers.
