Farmers will protest against ideas that, in their opinion, want to significantly limit crop and cattle production in Poland and the EU.
Polish farmers will hold mass protests against grain imports from Ukraine. This was reported by inpoland.net.pl on Friday, January 19.
“Polish farmers reported that they will block roads across the country from 12.00 to 14.00 on January 24. It is possible that on this day protesters will block the Polish-Ukrainian border,” the message said.
It was indicated that the representative of the agricultural organization Solidarnośc, Adrian Wawrzyniak, called on all farmers and agricultural unions in Poland to join these protests.
“Farmers will take to the streets to protest against grain imports from Ukraine, against the European Union and ideas that, in their opinion, want to significantly limit crop and livestock production in Poland and EU,” the publication wrote.
The National Council of Chambers of Agricultural Industry supported these farmers’ protests.
It was previously known that five EU countries have asked the European Commission to introduce duties on grain from Ukraine due to dumping prices in “front-line” countries.
It was also reported that the European Commission refused to renew quotas for agricultural imports from Ukraine to Poland.
