The National Bank of Ukraine significantly reduced the exchange rate of the dollar and euro on the last working day of the week. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Friday, January 19.
So, the official dollar exchange rate for Monday is set at 37.5268 UAH per 1 dollar (-0.1826 UAH). The American currency fell to its lowest level since the end of December.
In turn, the euro exchange rate on January 22 will be 40.8404 hryvnia per 1 euro (-0.1742 UAH).
Today in the interbank market the dollar exchange rate fell by 16 kopecks – to 37.51-37.52 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
In the cash market, the average dollar exchange rate for sales decreased by 20 kopecks – to 38.25 UAH/dollar, and the euro fell in price by 25 kopecks – to 41.80 Hryvnia.
Let us remind you that in the past week the dollar exchange rate has decreased significantly and fell below 38 Hryvnia in the interbank market. The reason for this is the decrease in the foreign currency deficit, which is why the National Bank reduced the sale of dollars. In general, since the beginning of 2024, the dollar has fallen in price more than the hryvnia.
