The Ministry of Agrarian Policy states that Ukraine transfers part of its agricultural products through Romania in transit.
Prices for road cargo transportation have increased by 15-20% due to blocked checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish and Ukrainian-Romanian borders. The Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmitrasevich spoke about this in a telethon Unified news.
“The main loss is related to transportation costs. Every day that vehicles are idle costs money,” the official said.
According to him, the Romanian farmers, who have already started blocking checkpoints on the Ukrainian border, are asking for more support from their government.
He also added that Ukraine currently does not import wheat, rapeseed, sunflower and corn to Romania, but brings these products in transit at the ports.
“Because, as we know, in principle there are no such requirements for Ukraine,” concluded Dmitrasevich.
As is known, on January 13 and 14, there was a partial blocking of trucks in the direction of Siret-Porubnoye on the border of Ukraine and Romania. It started during the day and ended at night.
In Romania, agreements were reached with farmers blocking the border with Ukraine
