Latvia has closed access to all Yandex-related sites

The Latvian National Electronic Media Council plans to shut down all sites associated with the Russian company, including Yandex Music.

The Latvian regulator on Thursday, December 28, closed access to all sites associated with Russian Yandex. This was said by the head of the Latvian National Council for Electronic Media, Ivars Abolins, Delfi reports.

According to him, in the future, access to Yandex Music, which provides free access to podcasts and similar content created in Russia by sanctioned people, will be closed.

Previously, by the decision of the National Council of Latvia on April 7 last year, it was decided, in particular, to limit access to the website yandex.ru and its mirror sites. Yandex filed an appeal with the Administrative District Court, which will consider the application in writing on February 29, 2024.
