The volume of agricultural products increased significantly – from 278 thousand tons in the first month of operation of the corridor to almost 5 million tons in the current month.
Since the beginning of August, more than 300 ships have passed through the new Black Sea corridor, carrying 10 million cargoes from Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure on Tuesday, December 19.
“The export of 10 million tons of cargo is the result of the work of the Ukrainian corridor along the Black Sea. 302 ships exported Ukrainian agricultural products and other cargo to 24 countries,” said of the statement.
It is indicated that during the four months of operation of the corridor, the range of goods exported by Ukraine by sea has been expanded. At the same time, the amount of agricultural products increased significantly: from 278 thousand tons in the first month to almost 5 million tons today.
“Despite Russia’s systematic attack on the port infrastructure, the temporary Ukrainian sea corridor is working. Since its launch, the ports of the Odessa region have received 337 new ships for loading, and another 79 is being prepared to receive in the near future,” the department said.
Let’s recall that on December 4 it was reported that 7 million tons of cargo were exported through the new Black Sea corridor. So, in just two weeks it is possible to send another 3 million tons.
As is known, in contrast to the previously operating grain corridor, ships traveling along the new corridor not only carry agricultural products, but also other cargo – metal and containers.
