The cheapest model will start at $60,990, which is 50% more than Musk predicted.
On Thursday, November 30, Tesla held a long-announced presentation of Cybertruck electric pickup trucks, in which company owner Elon Musk participated. He gave the car keys to the first buyers.
The company also officially began the first deliveries of the electric car and announced that the price of the cheapest model will start at $60,990, Reuters reports.
Judging by the published videos, the cybertruck is made of shiny stainless steel and has an unusual design. Experts say the Cybertruck’s new body material and unconventional futuristic styling added complexity and cost to production.
“I believe this is our best product, I believe it’s the most unique thing on the road and ultimately what the future will look like,” said Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
During the Cybertruck presentation, Musk showed a video of the cybertruck overtaking a Porsche 911 while towing a similar car.
The cheapest Cybertruck model will start at $60,990, which is 50% more than Musk advertised in 2019. The all-wheel drive version will be available for delivery in 2024 for $79,990. The most expensive version, known as the Cyberbeast, will sell for an estimated price of $99,990 and will also be available in 2024.
The electric car itself was presented in 2019, but it goes on sale only now. The Cybertruck can carry more than 1.5 tons of cargo, travel up to 800 km on a single battery charge, and accelerate to 100 in 2.6 seconds (in top configuration).
