A promising deposit has been discovered in the Mesozoic gas complex of the Carpathians in a field considered depleted.
In the Carpathians, an exploratory well produced a gas flow with a flow rate of more than 200 thousand cubic meters. m of gas per day. This is a record figure for the fields of the western region in the last 20 years, the company Ukrgasvydobuvannya reported on Friday, November 17.

It is indicated that a promising deposit has been discovered in the Mesozoic gas complex of the Carpathians in a field considered depleted. An exploratory well was drilled there.
“A team of specialists from BU Ukrburgaz drilled a new well with a depth of 1,600 m for the purpose of further exploration of the depleted field. Record gas production rates were achieved thanks to the use of modern technologies, especially the Ivan Bogun drilling rig ,” the statement said.
Ukrgasvydobuvannya noted that the western region has great potential for discovering new hydrocarbon deposits. And the result of this great and, in general, work in old fields shows the effectiveness of using modern technologies and new techniques.
Now the company’s specialists are working to expand the technological capabilities of the surface infrastructure to increase efficient productivity.
Let’s recall that at the beginning of November two more gas wells with a total daily flow rate of 500 thousand cubic meters started operating in Ukraine.
And in August, a new gas field was discovered in Ukraine, the reserves of which may reach 1 billion cubic meters.
