It is noted that from January to August 2023, China imported semiconductor manufacturing equipment from the Netherlands worth $3.2 billion, which is 96.1% more than the same period in 2022 ($1.7 billion). In the first eight months of 2023, China’s semiconductor equipment imports from all countries reached US$13.8 billion.
It was previously reported that the United States would tighten restrictions on chip sales to China. The US is also working to prevent American chipmakers from selling semiconductors to China, circumventing government restrictions.
