He will meet US President Joe Biden at an undisclosed location in the San Francisco Bay Area today, November 15, before attending the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. Reuters reports this.
Upon arrival, Xi waved from the steps of the Air China plane. He was met on the tarmac by US officials, including Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns.
Xi’s summit with Biden will be the first face-to-face meeting between US and Chinese leaders in a year, and US officials see it as an opportunity to soften relations between the two countries.
