An IDF spokesman said the IDF knew what they were looking for in the hospital grounds.
Israeli soldiers (IDF) entered the territory of the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip, Al-Shifa. This is what the press service of the Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday, November 15.
The report said it was conducting a “precise and targeted” operation aimed at “defeating Hamas and possibly rescuing hostages.”
An IDF spokesman, who wished to remain anonymous, said the IDF soldiers knew what they were looking for on the hospital grounds.
Earlier, Israeli soldiers posted a video showing a Hamas shelter under the Rantisi Children’s Hospital in Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces said the hostages were likely being held in an underground facility.
One of Al-Shifa’s doctors told CNN that the Israeli military warned hospital staff about the operation half an hour before it began and advised them not to go near windows or go out on balconies.
It will be recalled that the Palestinian radical group Hamas has finally lost control of Gaza City. As Israel’s Defense Minister stressed, the IDF is advancing “according to plans.”
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces announced that airstrikes in the Gaza Strip had killed several Hamas commanders in the past 24 hours. Among the senior officials was Yaqub Ashour, commander of the Hamas anti-tank guided missile launcher in the Khan Yunis Brigade.
