3.7 million tons of food and other goods were transported through the temporary humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea.
At least 100 ships have left the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny since the start of the temporary sea corridor opened by Ukraine in August of this year. This was announced by the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink in social networks X (Twitter) on Monday, November 13th.
“Today, the 100th ship passed through the Black Sea Humanitarian Corridor – a life-saving export channel for Ukraine, which helped deliver 3.7 million tons of food and goods around the world,” he wrote.
In this regard, the Center for Transport Strategies (CTS) clarified that we are talking about ships that have left the ports of Greater Odessa, since November 9 the Ministry of Reconstruction has informed about 91 ships, which in that time exported 3.3 million tons of agricultural products and cargo in the humanitarian sea corridor. At that time, the number of ships entering the ports was 116.
“The 100th ship that left the temporary corridor of the Black Sea is likely to be the Capesize Ocean Leo with a deadweight of 177.7 thousand tons,” the publication wrote.
Let’s recall that on November 8, the Russians launched a missile attack on a ship calling at the port of the Odessa region. The invaders fired Kh-31P anti-radar missiles.
The Liberian flagged ship is civilian. Due to the enemy attack, the pilot died and three crew members (Philippine citizens) were injured.
The next day it became known that Ukraine had sent six ships with agricultural products.
