Underground gambling business activities were stopped. During the search, equipment worth more than 15 million hryvnias was seized.
Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security, together with representatives of the Cyber Police, liquidated an underground casino in Kyiv. The BEB press service reported this on Tuesday, October 24.
Law enforcement officers searched the office premises, which were used for conducting and broadcasting Internet gambling games. As a result, equipment worth more than 15 million hryvnias was confiscated.
Investigators found that a group of people organized a special system of online casinos and mirror sites that offered players gambling cards and roulette in real time.
It is noted that the illegal casino operates as a complete one: with the participation of a croupier and several players at the same time. However, the latter is not physically present, but virtually. The game was broadcast on the Internet. Casino operators do not have the appropriate licenses.
During the search, detectives recovered roulette and card tables, computer equipment, server equipment, a total of 43 units and financial and business documents.
Some of the casino equipment is branded with the logos of one of the companies under sanctions. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
