Expenditures of the general fund of the state budget for the needs of the defense forces for January-September 2023 amounted to UAH 1.255 trillion or 59.3% of the total amount of expenditures of the general fund of the state budget. The Ministry of Finance announced this on Facebook on Friday, October 20.
“In the first nine months of this year, expenditures of the general fund of the state budget in the security and defense sector amounted to UAH 1.255 trillion, or 59.3% of the total amount of expenditures of the general fund of the state budget. In September – 141.9 billion UAH,” the report said.
The Ministry of Finance noted that the funds were used to provide money for military personnel, private and commanding officers, police officers, purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal equipment in protection, medical support, etc.
Earlier it became known that the amount of expenditures of the general fund of the state budget for January-September 2023 is almost 2.119 trillion UAH.
And yesterday it was reported that President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law that increases state budget spending by 322 billion hryvnias in 2023. Almost all of these funds will go to defense needs.
