US actors’ union Sag-Aftra has warned its members that dressing up as their favorite movie characters for Halloween could breach strike rules. The Guardian reported this.
In particular, the actors’ strike, now in its fourth month, shows no signs of ending after negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) broke down again on October 11. So on Thursday , October 19, the union issued instructions to its 160,000 strikers to ensure they do not “deliberately violate strike rules” on Halloween.
“Choose costumes inspired by generic characters and figures (ghosts, zombies, spiders, etc.),” the guidelines advise, adding that union members should not “post images of costumes inspired by the strike’s content on social media.”
According to the publication, Barbie and Wednesday Addams are expected to be two of the most popular Halloween costumes this year.
