About 60 trucks with cognac from Armenia were stopped at the entrance to Russia due to quality checks.
Road carriers carrying goods from Armenia to Russia are faced with the problem of transporting them to the territory of the Russian Federation due to the Russian side checking the quality of Armenian cognac. This was said by the Minister of Economy of the Republic Vahan Kerobyan, reports Armenpress October 3.
“Armenian cargo is idle at the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint (on the Russian-Georgian border, – edit.). We have a problem,” he said.
According to the minister, the Russian side reported the reasons. “They are checking the quality of the cognac. We are in contact with our colleagues in Russia,” Kerobyan said.
The trade attaché of the Armenian Embassy in Russia, Vahan Hakobyan, said that about 60 truckloads of cognac have gathered at the Russian border, awaiting the completion of a quality check.
We remind you that today the parliament of Armenia ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court of The Hague. The Russian Federation called Armenia’s ratification of the Rome Statute a “wrong step” from the point of view of bilateral relations. The Kremlin said that “Russia considers the people of Armenia to be brothers, but there are questions for the leadership of this country.”
As you know, in March the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of illegally deporting thousands of children from Ukraine.
