“In September 2023, the state budget of Ukraine received about $3 billion in external funding. Grant funds provided on non-repayable terms accounted for more than 40% of total financial assistance,” said of the statement.
Among the donors in September 2023 are the European Union – $1.6 billion (concessional financing), the USA – $1.25 billion (grant) and the World Bank guaranteed by the UK – $100 million (concessional financing).
It is indicated that the attracted international aid is used to finance the priority expenditures of the state budget – ensuring the social protection of the population, salaries of workers in the education and health sectors, and human needs.
During the nine months of this year, the Ministry of Finance attracted more than $32.6 billion in external funding for the urgent needs of the state budget.
It was previously known that Ukraine is counting on multi-billion dollar US aid next year.
It was also reported that Ukraine needs $42 billion in external financing by 2024.
