The grain problem will be solved, Kyiv is fully determined to end the crisis, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted.
Ukraine is determined to resolve the Ukrainian grain export situation; neither Kyiv nor Warsaw need a “grain war”. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
“History, future and security have no other choice but to get out of this crisis. We did not create this crisis, and we are determined to end it. Emotions are running high. Until October 15, election day in Poland, what can the temperature is still rising, but let’s be constructive,” he said.
The minister recalled that Ukraine works with the European Commission. Kyiv delivered a clear signal to Warsaw about Ukraine’s commitment to a constructive solution to this situation. “We don’t need this grain war, and neither does Poland,” Kuleba said.
The minister noted that, using the example of relations with Bulgaria and Romania, Ukraine showed that “there are no problems that cannot be solved.”
“Let me remind you that at the beginning of the crisis in the spring of this year, there were five countries that implemented restrictions. Now Bulgaria and Romania have found a solution, but the other three countries have not found one. The reason they “Didn’t find it, obviously, is not because there aren’t solutions. There are several other reasons why these solutions have not been found,” added the foreign minister.
The diplomat assured that the grain problem can be solved, “if there is a will to solve it.” “We have such a desire,” said Kuleba.
We expect that on September 15, the European Commission decided not to extend the restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products. Poland, Slovakia and Hungary decided to unilaterally extend the ban.
The majority of Poles – 66% – support the decision of the Polish government to unilaterally introduce a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain in the country’s domestic market, contrary to the decision of the European Commission.
