Two 110 kV overhead power lines were damaged, resulting in power outages at two 110 kV substations.
Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region has left the city of Toretsk without electricity. The Ministry of Energy announced this on Thursday, September 28.
It is indicated that due to shelling, two 110 kV overhead power lines were damaged, leading to power outages at two 110 kV substations.
Therefore, 23 thousand residents of Toretsk were left without electricity. In particular, two mines lost power, one with workers underground. Mines and some household consumers are powered; Repairs to the lines are ongoing, the report said.
Also, due to shelling, some consumers in Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkov, Kherson and Chernigov regions remain without power. Repair teams work where the security situation allows.
At the same time, the electricity produced by the power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of Ukrainians, the department noted. A large-scale repair campaign is underway at generation facilities – thermal, hydro and nuclear.
Earlier, Ukrenergo said the energy system would be viable this winter. Preparations for the heating season are underway now – up to 80% of the work has been completed. Particular attention is paid to protecting the equipment from possible attacks.
