The company’s priority is to use its own coal, but in wartime conditions, imported coal will be insurance for a stable winter season, said the CEO of DTEK Energy.
DTEK Energy has contracted 210 thousand tons of coal in Poland for the stable passage of the upcoming heating season. As part of the import contract, supplies of thermal coal will continue throughout the heating season, from September this year to March next, and the first batches of coal are expected this week, the report of company press service.
According to Ildar Saleev, General Director of DTEK Energy, for his company’s thermal power plants, the use of domestically produced coal remains a priority, but in war conditions, imported coal will be insurance for a stable period .
“In the conditions of war, unpredictable actions of the enemy and the increased load carried by the company’s thermal power plants in recent months, the additional amount of imported fuel will make it possible to “secure” and provide an additional margin of safety for a more stable passage of thermal generation in the coming warming period,” he said.
We would like to remind you that it was previously reported that DTEK thermal power plants increased their electricity supply by one third in August.
