The minimum amount for a “normal life” in Ukraine is 12,750 hryvnia, according to a survey.
The financial requirements of Ukrainian citizens are growing, but real incomes are still, in general, significantly or slightly below the desired level. This is confirmed by the results of a sociological survey conducted by KIIS commissioned by the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Thus, the median salary per person per month to “live normally” in July 2023 is 12,750 hryvnias ($345 at the current exchange rate).
In November 2021, this amount was 10,000 hryvnia ($385 at the current exchange rate), and in December 2022 it was 10,000 hryvnia (down to $240 at the current rate).

At the same time, speaking about family incomes per person per month, 43.5% of respondents reported that they were significantly lower than the desired level, and 25.5% – somewhat lower.

The study was conducted from 17 to 27 June 2023. The survey results represent the adult population of Ukraine, with the exception of Crimea and the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass. 2004 respondents were surveyed. The statistical error at the 95% confidence level is 2.2%.
Recall that the Ministry of Economy proposes to increase the minimum wage in the state budget of 2024 to UAH 7,651.
