Paying the gambling business tax for 2022 is a matter of principle, the Rada said.

The issue of understated tax payments for the gambling business in 2022 remains open, companies must pay billions of hryvnias to the budget. About it in an interview Interfax-Ukraine The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Daniil Getmantsev said.

“The majority of operators are already working” in a white hat ” and paying taxes that cannot be compared to last year in the state budget. But we must increase this pressure and continue to monitor their activities for compliance to the law. And make them pay money for 2022 is a matter of principle “, – he said.

According to Getmantsev, payments from the gambling business to the budget at the level of about UAH 7 billion are expected this year, and a similar amount should also be paid for 2022.

The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee noted that there are market entities that have ceased operations and will not pay taxes, but in this case, in his opinion, law enforcement agencies should work with them.

He is also said to be starting amendments to the gambling business law, where an additional reason for license cancellation is the tax debt of the payer, so that the company cannot continue to work without paying taxes.

For the first six months of 2023, the budget received UAH 2.94 billion in taxes from the gambling business. This is 14 times higher than the same period last year.

Recall that in February, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that deprives the gambling business of tax benefits.
