Integration of the 250 MW power unit into the power grid will help cover peak power surges in summer.
DTEK Energy has commissioned a 250 MW power unit at one of its TPPs after a scheduled overhaul. This was reported by the company’s press service.
It was mentioned that in the midst of preparations for the heating season, electrical engineers not only adjust the power units for increased work in winter, but additionally integrate them into the system of electricity to cover summer consumption peaks.
“Another extraordinary winter is ahead, so power engineers continue to do everything possible so that Ukrainians feel as little as possible the consequences of Russia’s energy scare in the future and now,” the message said.
Yesterday it became known that a summer record of electricity consumption was recorded in Ukraine. The Ukrainian energy system had to get emergency help from Romania.
In turn, DTEK increased generation at TPPs by 30%. The company reacted to the large increase in electricity consumption due to the summer heat.
DTEK also named the amount of costs for preparing thermal power plants and mines for the upcoming winter. We are talking about billions of hryvnias.
