The Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for issuing guarantees for compensation for damage caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and military operations on the territory of our country. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram on Friday, May 26.
It is indicated that guarantees will be provided to charterers, operators and / or owners of sea and inland vessels sailing under the flag of Ukraine and under the flags of foreign states.
In particular, they will receive compensation in case of damage during the stay of such vessels in the territorial waters of Ukraine, when such vessels are sent to open Ukrainian ports for cargo transportation.
Recall, on May 17, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia agreed to extend the grain agreement for another two months – until July 18. During its operation, more than 30 million tons of food were exported by sea.
At the same time, the demurrage of ships under the grain deal is estimated at $1 billion.
