The reduction in electricity imports began in March, as Ukraine’s electricity system has seen a stable surplus since the beginning of spring.
According to the April results, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 44% compared to March, to 3,943 MWh. This is on Monday, May 1, according to ExPro data.
It was noted that in April, Ukraine imported 3,805 MWh from Slovakia, and only 138 MWh from Moldova. And since April 7, imports have been received only in the Slovak direction.
The sharp decline in electricity imports began in March, as the grid has been operating at a steady surplus since early spring.
It was also noted that since April 11, Ukraine has resumed exporting electricity. In total, 95.9 thousand MWh were exported. Moldova is the first open destination. 46.4 thousand MWh was exported to this country, which is almost 50% of all exports.
On April 12, exports to Poland began via a separate Dobrotvorskaya TPP-Zamosc line. Within a month, 30.3 thousand MWh was provided in this direction.
Also, from April 17 to 21, exports to Slovakia were carried out, but it was stopped due to inconsistencies in the holding of auctions for the distribution of the capacity of interstate crossings.
And now it became known that Ukraine has suspended the export of electricity to Poland.
