The restrictions of European countries contradict the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, the Ukrainian side believes.
The Ukrainian authorities took the initiative to hold a trilateral meeting with the participation of the European Commission and five EU countries – Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia – to solve problems with the import of agricultural products . Interfax-Ukraine reported this on Tuesday, April 18.

It is said that the information about such a meeting has been confirmed by the European Commission. But the exact time is not yet known.
“Vice-President Dombrovskis plans to meet representatives of the five interested EU member states in the coming days. We are also in contact with the Ukrainian side, and they will also take part in this meeting,” the EC said.
According to the agency, Kiev believes that the restrictions of European countries are a serious violation of trade agreements not only with Ukraine as a third country, but also within the EU itself, contrary to the Association Agreement with Ukraine – EU.
“In this regard, Ukraine requests to withdraw the relevant decisions and resolve the situation in accordance with the requirements of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the EU and the principles of the EU Single Market,” the message said. .
Recall that Poland, Slovakia and Hungary have banned the import of Ukrainian grain and some agricultural products from Ukraine. Bulgaria and Romania are “towards” the same solution.
It is already known that Ukraine may suffer huge losses due to the embargo on the export of its agricultural products to neighboring EU countries.
