The parties discussed further work within the framework of Ukraine’s Interagency Donor Coordination Platform.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Washington. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, April 14.

“A year ago, in the IMF office, we agreed on ways to financially support Ukraine. We talked about $ 5 billion in monthly budget support. During this time, we not only successfully passed a difficult financial year, but now we have a big program for the next four years in the amount of 15.6 billion dollars. We thank and appreciate this help,” said Shmygal.

The parties discussed the implementation of reforms and further movement towards recovery and development. The prime minister noted that Ukraine needs $14 billion for rapid recovery this year. In this context, according to him, further work within the framework of the Interagency Donor Coordination Platform is important.

“This platform is one of the best tools for communication. Thank you for your leadership in its creation. We are sure that the platform will bring us positive results in all areas: financing the budget deficit , restoration, confiscation of fixed assets of Russia, which will be the main source for the restoration of Ukraine,” stressed the head of the government.

The Prime Minister recalled that thanks to the IMF and the G7 countries, Ukraine will get access to $115 billion in long-term support.

Earlier this week, the IMF revised the forecast for Ukraine’s GDP in 2023 and abandoned the estimate for 2024.
